Pink Hair!!!

So I did it! I started working out, eating better, portion control, and last but not least - I got my hair done. The Hair Stylist had a hard time getting the ends light, they are still a little orange (that's what I get for using box color back in the day). So the ombré looks a little different than what I wanted. But still so gorg!!

Here's me right after we finished, extensions and all

And here's some without the extensions

It's hard to get the ombré to show in the pics, but she made the pink a little dark so that as I wash it will lighten but not wash out too much. It's also a bit hard to get an exact representation of the color, notice how in each picture the color looks a bit different? I like that though, it makes pictures fun.

I am so happy and I feel beautiful with this hair, I can't stop staring at it in the mirror! It's like a crazy wild make over! It feels so good to look so different.

I would rather look back on my life and say, "I can't believe I did that," instead of "I wish I would have done that!!"

Thank you Angie from Serendipity Salon!

Blonde Hair & a Hen

Happy Monday! Yes, for once I'm happy it's Monday because that means were one day closer to Sunday! Sunday is going to be a big day...

On Saturday my Husband and I organized the garage and got my treadmill out so I can begin working out today!

Sunday we woke up at 3:30am for no good reason (don'tcha' just love it when that happens?!) and while he could go back to sleep, I couldn't.. So by 4:30 I went to my Mom's for a visit since I knew she'd be up by then! Her and my aunts and uncles allllll wake up by 4am or so, every morning. Crazy you say? I have to agree! Anyway it was wonderful. Well not the early morning part, it was dark out of course and super cold.. But visiting with her was really nice, we talked, laughed, and joked for 5 hours straight! Only stopping for potty breaks or sips of water! I love talking with her because we can talk about anything and everything, she's so open and TMI (gee wonder where I get that from?). Oh and she made her amazing breakfast burritos but we didn't stop talking or laughing during that too.
It's rare that we get her and I time, just the two of us. She's usually busy with my bro on the weekends, and I don't see her that often because of my own busy life.
She lives in the country, with all the dirt, gravel, and bugs you could dream of. You, not me, I never really liked it out there, it's too far from civilization and I'm not a fan of dirt and bugs haha! But it's nice to get to visit because the land and views are priceless. Every year she ends up getting some new animals, but not by choice! They just seem to flock to her. Last year 18 ducks just waddled up her long driveway and stayed a while. Their feet started to get dry and scratched of course, so she tried to call around, but can you believe there are no duck rescues?! Thank goodness a friend had land with a couple of ponds, and he took them for her. Then the year before that, 3 bunnies showed up. 2 were white so they got snatched up pretty quick and the black one did pretty good for almost a year but eventually he/she got snatched up too :( So this year a cute little hen showed up! She was from the neighbor's yard, but when the neighbor came to try and get her, the hen wasn't having that! So I guess the little hen is here to stay. We've had chickens when I was a teen, so she'll be taken good care of by mom. Little miss is skittish now from her owner trying to catch her. But whenever a bird landed or flew by her she tried to fly after it and attack! It was so funny!

So by 9:30 I had to get to my hair appointment. I was surprised that it didn't take that long to get my extremely dark brown to this:

It was initially a little scary because my hair looked a bit orange, but she lightened the orange parts again so it looks much better now. Ha look at those eyebrows! That's my original hair color :( But she lightened those brows too, thank goodness! And here are the results!

Today's my first day getting back on the work out train! I'm ready!
Have a great week and I'll be posting again next week, talk soon xoxo!!

Crazy Adventures!!!

Hello! I've been super busy with work, my kiddos, and trying to get my chaotic house under control with my not so great organization skills. But hooray, it's all starting to come together. While I've been working so hard on feeding my soul with doll making (and a little Blythe customizing - LOVE!) I've been neglecting my body and treating it horribly. Vegging out on all bad foods; my faves are doritos and chocolate ice cream... In the morning!! And my doll making mainly happens while I'm sitting on the couch. Now that I've made a ton of dollies, Im going to start to slow that down a bit while I begin a fun adventure....
......... I'm going to start a workout routine as well as switch up my diet for a much healthier one. I will be posting updates on my progress on my blog.
Here's how beautiful I was after my first child. I lost all the baby weight so quick and kept myself in the best shape with a simple workout routine and by NOT over indulging - something I really struggle with...

OK, more "interesting" news.. I'm a wild girl at heart as I'm sure most of you know! But after having my second child I tried to get all prim and proper (boooring!!)....
I changed the way I dressed, never went out (not that I ever did when I had baby #1), became a housewife, as well as an introvert and I also became a worry wart. I need to do something extreme, something adventurous, drastic, wild, and out of my element!! I'm going to dye my hair a crazy color! While I'm over the moon for a soft ombre pink, I'm a bit torn between that, bright pink (because it will be crazy bright for a few washes, then rinse out a bit to a calmer shade), and "old lady" lilac. What color do you think I should rock? Here you can see some really gorgeous colors that I think these girls rock so well!

I will be taking progress pictures of the whole thing. I guess in order to go that drastic of a color, it's something that has to be done in steps. So first I'll be platinum blonde for a week! Haha, good thing I don't go out much!!

For so many years I have been ashamed of my tattoos, I have gotten dirty looks and rudely stared at. It started to take it's toll and make me embarrassed of body. I let it get to me. Lately I have seen some very beautiful women with huge tattoos that look great on them. It's encouraging and inspiring for me and I've had a change of heart. I'm not embarrassed anymore because I am who I am and if people want to judge me based on my tattoos then so be it, it's not my problem. I can't go through life worrying about what other people might or might not think of me. I have several pieces that need to be finished. And over time that's what I'm going to do. It's a lot more painful and expensive to have them removed anyway, considering I have a half sleeve (outline) and huge stars going down my arm!! I am who I am and I can't change my entire being to fit into the "norm" of society or because I have children. I will always consider how my decisions will affect my children, and I hope as they grow up they can see that being true to their heart is what's important. I look forward to seeing what type of people they are and who they become. Because no matter what, we are all beautiful.

I look forward to sharing my new journey with you, stay tuned!

Continued Exciting Adventures!

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day! We sure did, venturing to Howarth Park and riding the train. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect.

I'm very excited to announce my dolls will be featured in two galleries. One in October and the other in November so needless to say, I have been a bit busy getting ready for the shows. It's very exciting and I feel really good about it! I am very honored to have come so far in such a short amount of time. It makes me so happy that people appreciate my art and believe in me!

More exciting news, Stephbunny and Bun Bun are going international! France to be exact - how lucky are they?!

How did the doll show go?

So last weekend was my doll show. It was geared towards antique dolls, which I thought would be good for higher end items. While my table definitely stood out, I think a lot of people were there for a bargain or for a specific item they were looking for. Perhaps my Art Dolls would do better at an art show as oppose to a doll show. I got a few strange faces, several comments on how my dolls looked "creepy" (which caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting that!), and one even said my work reminds them of Tim Burton (really?). But overall the majority of people said that they were cute and sweet. One person even said that when she looked at them, she can't help but smile; and that really made my day. It's comments like that, that fill my heart beyond words, and brings my soul such joy.

I'm working on some new dollies for the Halloween season. Usually I'm not a big Halloween person, but I think it's an excuse to get a little crazy with the "creepy" dolls haha! And there's a gallery I will be submitting my work to, which will be doing a show on the darker side of art. So we'll see what happens!
