Ladybug Dreamland - a Constant Work in Progress

Hello! Something I enjoy about art is the evolution. It's really fun to look at where artists start with their art and where it takes them. The change in mediums and techniques is necessary to find what you prefer and what you don't.

Over the last couple of days I've done a few things different. I usually make my Art Dolls with paper clay but I have started working with polymer again. I used to use it with my BJDs ( I've only made a few), but moved to paper clay because I really liked the look. While I still do, I just don't have the patience for the dry time and sanding of each layer. I really love the instant gratification of polymer!

I have a doll show coming up, and something I think would be fun is to have doll ornaments for the holidays. Here's one I've been working on, not quite done yet:

Her eyes are glass; which I don't usually use but I have a lot left over from my BJD days so I thought I'd better use them! Like I said, I've only made a few BJDs but whenever I get going on something I go a bit overboard with supplies!

A beautifully sculpted face and I love the cheeky pink cheeks! I'm impressed by how much sculpting you get done.

Thank you!

I have a friend who sculpts more than I do, so I always assume I'm not getting enough done haha! But I usually work on my dolls late at night so I actually do get a lot done :o)
